Day 20 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is: Tools & Materials. We’ve changed our materials along the way but we are now settled on our current wrapping paper which we designed ourselves. We get this printed locally. We have always used a retro #dymoembosser label maker and love the look it gives to our four words. We tie each bookdate up with bakers twine and finish off with a label and peg. #marchmeetthemaker #supportlocal
The lovely Emma from @mumologist has set up an awareness to help parents who may be feeling isolated and who feel like their support is limited. We’ve all got each other’s backs and we’re all in this together! Especially those in my #parentingvillage who also run small businesses!!! We got this people!! x #whosinyourvillage #iminyourvillage

After a very hectic weekend of solo parenting (huge respect to all the single parents out there btw!) I’ve eaten rubbish for 3 days, bought a new iron (rock & roll) built bunk beds and sorted out a million crappy toys into boxes which will stay like that for about 2 days! Does anyone else use Monday to wipe the slate clean and start again!? Battle at @love_fitness_uk tonight x Lets learn to love Monday’s! X #mondaymotivation #backonthewagon
Day 18 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is: Inspiration. I’m always being inspired by lots of different people in all aspects of my life. The school Mum with 5 kids that I see every morning and afternoon that looks like she has got her shit together! The girl at work who just ran her first marathon (well done Amanda!) My son for getting 7 out of 10 in his spellings test on a really difficult week. My mum who always seems to be there when you need her! These people inspire me to be the best version of me...not always easy but I’m working on it! When asked during a recent interview with a magazine (low key don’t get too excited!) one of the questions was what famous person Inspires you....it took me about 10 secs to come up with the amazing @officialjkrowling I don’t really need to explain why as I’m sure most of my followers will agree. #inspirationallaround #marchmeetthemaker
Day 17 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is: Customers & Feedback. Up until just last week we have only ever in the whole 2 years received 5 star reviews 🤩. The 4 star review we received was brilliant as it has now focused our attention to a change that is needed. We are currently in the process of changing our boxes so that they travel better through the postal system. We LOVE hearing reviews and also customers who share posts on social media showing us their book dates xx #marchmeetthemaker
Day 16 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is: Helper. This is Billy he is 3 and always around ‘helping’ me.
He certainly keeps me on my toes and loves visiting the post office which is lucky as we do this every other day on the way to pick up his older brother from school! #marchmeetthemaker #littlehelper #muminbiz #bizmum
Day 15 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is:- Boomerang. I blinkin love a boomerang video here is the stunning @elliewalkerdine showing you all our Book Matchmaker Book Bag which comes in a variety of pretty pastel colours....perfect for spring (if it decides to come ) and carrying all your Book Dates in x
A bit late but Day 14 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 topic is:- Dreams & Plans. I often wonder where The Book Matchmaker will be in another 2 years time? What started as a hobby/sideline has now become something else. I suppose as a ‘dream’ for the future it would be nice to be able to afford to go part time (I would never give up completely as I love my job ). As far as plans go, I am ALWAYS thinking of new ideas and have a few currently in the pipe line which is exciting and will be revealed soon. I never ever take for granted that without you amazing people who choose to spend your hard earned money on my products I wouldn’t have a ‘dream’ or ‘plans’ for the future. Thankyou to everyone for your support and potentially making my dreams come true xxxx #smallbusiness
Day 13 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is:- Work clothes. My staple everyday outfit is a big jumper and jeans, if I’m wrapping books I add on some warm fluffy socks! I love our new Jumpers as they are so warm! I’ve had a few people ask me where it’s from....and it’s weird to say....me!! Ha! X #marchmeetthemaker
Day 12 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is:- Postage & Packaging. We send our Book Dates out wrapped in tissue paper and in a cardboard wrap box, we used to use Jiffy bags but found that posties would sometimes attempt to shove them through letter boxes and end up ripping the wrapping on the book . Our gift boxes are tied up with string and then put inside postal bags. I’m not happy with these boxes and regardless of how many fragile stickers I put on the item I have had a review recently that the box they received had been damaged in the post this is no good when you want to give the gift box as a gift. I am currently in the design phase of a new hopefully sturdier box that can withstand Royal Mail processes! #onwardsandupwards #fingerscrossed #marchmeetthemaker
Day 11 of #marchmeetthemaker2018 and the topic is- Branding. When I first started on this small business journey we were called #theblinddatebookcompany after a small blip in the road we changed and re-branded and became #thebookmatchmaker our ‘brand’ has evolved over this time. Our logo and also our new wrapping paper was designed by my twin sister who is a graphic designer (handy!) I love our current branding, the merchandise, the mugs but most importantly the look of the Book Dates x
