Today is the kind of day I can’t stop smiling These little African Penguins absolutely made my day - this is such a dream come true for me! I got to swim next to them in the ocean and it wasn’t a paid tourist activity, but a completely free for all experience So grateful to live on this planet
Taking the cable car up the Table Mountain felt a bit like cheating , but I made up for it with a long hike in the process of trying to escape the flood of tourists. I finally got to an area where it was just me, Cape Town and the drone, and let me just say it was pure magic
I have a pretty intense couple of days coming up with amazing activities lined up, so tag a friend who you’d like to explore Cape Town with and adventure out with me
If you’ve been following me through stories, you know that I’m currently on an adventure in dreamy Cape Town. I still can’t believe how this trip came about I put a picture of this blue car and the pink house in the middle of my vision board back in December, having had no plans of going to South Africa at all... and then boom, and this happens I’m blown away by this city, it’s sunsets, summer vibes in February and the most amazing hosts aka. my godparents @mimiikonn & @alexikonn Tell me, do you believe in the law of attraction, and if so, what have been some of your experiences of attracting your dreams?
'Love is not an instinct - it's a skill. None of us are perfect. We don't need perfection. Demand for perfection ultimately leads us to loneliness. To be in company with another person is to be negotiating imperfection every day. We are all incompatible, but it's the work of love that makes us accommodate each other and ourselves to our incompatibilities. ' - Alain de Botton.
My hubby and I don't celebrate Valentine's, but as I was going through my feed and sifting through e-mails last night, filled with ads, pink/red products and newsletters inspired by Feb 14th, I stumbled upon my favourite newsletter from @intelligentchange , which included Alain de Botton's video called 'Why You Will Marry the Wrong Person'. I loved it so much, that I added the link to my bio for you to check out. I would love to hear your thoughts after you listen to one of the most realistic and optimistic videos about relationships.
Love is a choice that we make every day, not a spontaneous feeling that comes and goes
This #adventureofme post is inspired by a recent conversation with my hubby about sustainable fashion. We came to a conclusion that the only way designers should be advocating for the environment is by making fashion, well... less fashionable (let’s be real, that was Wouter’s conclusion). I personally don’t believe in the necessity of 4 collections a year, I believe in the power of turning limited pieces into multiple outfits, minimising your annual consumption on clothes and turning older pieces into fresh new outfits. You don’t need to update your wardrobe every season, but you can still invest into unique pieces that will stand out. The reality is that you need to clean up your closet every season and know exactly what you own. The combination of items in your possession is endless. I never put away my summer dresses as I find they add a super feminine touch with sweaters in the winter.
I’ve been obsessed with this @mrselfportrait for a few years now and if you know me, or have been following me for a while, these @hm and @zara sweaters are my ultimate go-to in the winter for a while now. I hope this inspires you to think a little outside the box the next time you shop
Love story with London continues... the tiny little hidden away streets in London called Mews, actually used to be stables for horses with an upper area meant for servants. Nowadays, however, a flat in a mews house, costs as much as one in a new high rise building in London, but is still soooo much cuter than any high rise
Sometimes people come into your life and your energies intertwine, you inspire each other and have this constant craving to see more of the world and do more, in your own ways. And then in one instant, when you least expect it, that person is gone forever, leaving you feeling perplexed about life, with deep sadness that’s often hidden by your extraverted personality. @sherylsandberg says in her book Option B that as we get older, we define happiness less in terms of excitement and more in terms of peacefulness. I wish you peace wherever you are #adventureofme
