I’ve been so out of the loop in my sewing room lately, but after seeing some of the pretty thread on #igquiltfest tonight I had to post my favorite thread photo. There’s just something about that @aurifilthread isn’t there? It’s so photogenic! This was from my Simplify thread box a few years ago, but rumor has it there will be a small box coming soon that goes along with Vintage Holiday!
Happy National Quilting Day! I celebrated by starting a massive cleanup of my sewing room. After getting my new quilts back from Abby and finishing my last binding () that was first on my list. I am so excited to get everything back in its place so I can start something new! How early is too early to send kids to bed? Asking for a friend. ;-) #nationalquiltingday
Well this was fun! I recolored my B&C Basics quilts in Vintage Holiday tonight and the plan was to post my favorite but I loved them all! Which one is your favorite?
Tomorrow is the last day these four patterns are on sale for $5, so if you were going to grab one, hop over to the shop. Happy weekend, friends! #vintageholidayfabric
This Little Star quilt in Basics still has my heart. The perfect way to use a layer cake if you ask me! All of my B&C Basics patterns are on sale this week for $5.00, so if you’ve had your eye on Little Star, Colorway, Silver Lining or the Little Star Mini head over to the shop. Thanks for all your excitement earlier- I’m so excited to show you the rest of the new group! #littlestarquilt #bcbasicsfabric
Just a little taste of what’s to come. We couldn’t be more in love! For those of you who have been wondering, I thought I would give you a little more info on how the whole fabric release thing works. My mom and I release two groups of fabric per year with Moda, one is introduced in the spring and one in the fall. Since we usually just attend fall market, that one is introduced at Quilt Market or just before, but since we aren’t attending spring market, this is a pre-market group, which means it releases with other Moda collections about 2 months before market. Because the time between the fall market release and the pre-market release is shorter, there is sometimes a little bit of an overlap where the fall group hasn’t shipped quite yet when the spring group is released. In this case, Vintage Holiday will ship a few weeks after our new group is introduced. (But don’t you worry, we have some really fun stuff planned for Vintage Holiday this June, so stay tuned! :-) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our spring group is usually introduced in March and ships to stores in late summer, and our fall group is introduced in October and ships in the spring. We receive sample yardage a few weeks before we can show you a new group, which means a lot of marathon sewing, late nights, and FaceTiming to show our new favorite quilts to one another! Between us showing it to you and it being available, the Moda sales reps all over the world show it to quilt shops. Then the orders are totaled up and the order is placed with the mill. The mill in South Korea works hard at making all the beautiful fabric and shipping it at the same time, then it travels by boat halfway around the world to Dallas where the Moda crew rolls it on bolts, packages it up and ships it to your favorite quilt shop. It is quite the process! All made possible by you and our amazing quilt shops. (Thank you all so much!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Is that more than you’ve ever wanted to know about fabric releases? Ha ha.. probably so! We cannot wait to show you everything we’ve been working on behind the scenes. We hope you love it as much as we do! #bonnieandcamille #modafabrics

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet here lately, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on some fun things, including a collaboration with @fatquartershop I think you are going to love! Speaking of Fat Quarter Shop, they asked me a week or two ago if I wanted to try out their cute Stash ‘n Store and little did they know I was already totally crazy about them. I have one on the desk in my office and one by my sewing machine and use both daily. And because they are cool like that, they still sent 3 of them for me to share with you! To win one just say which color you want most- aqua, pink or gray. It’s that simple. Good luck! And thank you @fatquartershop!
Good morning! We had a pretty cute delivery here last night and I couldn’t wait to get up share them with you this morning! (Which says a lot because I am definitely not a morning person. ) Anyway, two new enamel pins are in the shop, all ready to ship. I couldn’t resist making a pin of Vintage Remix, it is one of my very favorites. These are a bit bigger than my other pins and the perfect addition to your quilting pin collection. Head over to my shop to take a closer look. Happy pin collecting!
Today is the day! I am cleaning up my sewing room and starting something new. Until school pick up, three piano lessons and a church meeting that is. :-) Did I mention my middle kid broke his arm longboarding a few days ago? It’s been a little crazy over here. But today, I am sewing!
So here’s what I need your help with today. Which B&C color is your favorite? Aqua? (Mine) Red? (My mom’s) Would you like to see more Vintage Picnic navy? More black or teal from Handmade? Charcoal from The Good Life? We are in planning stages now, so chime in if there’s something you’d like to see more of. Just don’t say purple. We aren’t big on purple. ;-) #bonnieandcamille
Well sometimes you sew a couple quilts in a week and sometimes you can barely keep your head above water with all the life that is going on. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been firmly in the second camp for the last little while. I’ve stitched a few hexagon flowers here and there while waiting for kids at various places, but other that that, no quilting over here lately. In not too long I’ll have 70 pounds of fabric here to keep me busy, so I’m looking forward to that. But you know what I’m enjoying today? Having a washer that washes and a dryer that dries. It’s the little things! (And WOW we had a lot of laundry to catch up on.) Tonight I’m catching up and living vicariously through all of you and the beautiful things you are creating. Thanks for sharing them! And isn’t this photo by @cottagecouturefabrics of The Good Life gorgeous? Happy Monday, friends!
Thank you to every one of you who entered the pin giveaway this weekend. I couldn’t believe how many of you chimed in! The winners this time are @quilting247 and her friend @hulijulie. Congratulations ladies! Direct message me your shipping info and I’ll get these right out to you.
As a thank you to all of you who played along, you can get 20% off all enamel pins this week with code PINLOVE. So if you’ve been looking to add to your collection head on over.
Thanks again everyone! I’m so glad you love these cute little things as much as I do!
GIVEAWAY! Today seems like a good day for a pin giveaway, doesn’t it? To enter, all you have to do is comment and tell me which of my enamel pins is your favorite and tag a friend. Both you and your friend will win a full set of all 8 pins! Simple as that. And since I always get asked, scroll through my pictures to see a few of my favorite ways to use them. Good luck!
The other quilt I picked up from Abby last weekend was this Jellybean quilt in the upcoming Swell Christmas line. I whipped this one up one day while I was watching Christmas movies and eating treats from our neighbors and had the best time! I can’t wait to pull it out next year.
Fabric: Christmas Swell by @urbanchiks for @modafabrics (ships to quilt shops in June
Quilting: Rainbow hearts by @alatimer
Done! I really enjoyed making this one, aside from the quilt surgery when I swapped out the aqua points. (The first fabric I used was wayyy too busy.) I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Pattern: Patchwork Swoon
Fabric: mainly Swell and Sweet by @urbanchiks for @modafabrics (red points are Vintage Picnic)
Quilting: Orange peel by (my favorite quilter) @alatimer
It’s dreary and rainy here today, the perfect day to bind a Patchwork Swoon with a patchwork back and pretend my roof isn’t leaking, the internet isn’t down, my washing machine is working and my copy machine didn’t finally bite the dust. When it rains it pours! Might as well enjoy some binding. #patchworkswoonquilt #sendcookies
After pulling out a few potential projects I decided that a little sewing on the couch was perfect for today so I tried channeling my inner @suedaleydesigns. All I managed to make so far was this one cute little block, but I love it so much! A whole quilt of these on low volume backgrounds has to happen! That Sue sure knows what she’s doing.
Well, so far this Christmas break we’ve had 4 cases of stomach flu and one case of strep over here which meant putting our plans to go visit family on hold. Real life, huh? It sure gets in the way. But today everyone seems to finally be feeling better and I need a new project! Any suggestions? Whats on your sewing list? :-)
I’ve gotten quite a few questions about this quilt today after it was in a photo in my stories last night. It’s just a basic patchwork quilt made from Marmalade, Ruby and Miss Kate flannel charms and Layer Cakes. It has a flannel backing too, and became an instant favorite at our house. Another one out of the Vintage Holiday flannels is at the top of my list for next year!
Yesterday I decided to whip up a new thread catcher. Well, 6 thread catchers later I can’t seem to stop! (And ironically enough, I’m covered in thread. ) A few have already been given away, but I’m loving these three so much. That sparkly linen with Vintage Holiday is just . Tutorial is by @thesewingchick and is quick, easy, and a great way to use a mini charm pack. Next up? Some @knotandthread bags! My youngest needs “something cool to hold his church crayons.” Hopefully I can manage that. :-)
Well now I have to post the finished quilts, don’t I? Here are those same four quilts from the last post all pieced, quilted (by @alatimer ), and bound. This fabric just makes my heart so happy! Our first ever Christmas group, this was a long time coming! #bonnieandcamille #vintageholidayfabric
Anyone else shopping for cute little stocking stuffers this weekend? We’ve had so much fun gathering stuff for our boys that I decided some Thimble Blossoms stocking stuffers were in order. :-) So this weekend I added a few mini charms to the shop and put enamel pins on sale for 25% off with code STOCKING. Oh, and every pin order will get one of my very favorite pens. Don’t forget a few mini patterns while you are at it! Happy stocking stuffing! #thimbleblossoms
