"This statement means more to me the older I get. Gaining strength is a slow and arduous process that requires some dedication and consistency. There is longevity in my family. While I thoroughly dislike squats, (i avoided anything resembling a squat for 30 years for fear I wouldn't get back up) they are the best thing in the world for functional strength. Squats and I have a love/hate relationship! My own fears and hangups are still my biggest stumbling blocks but I will persist! Always learning, always growing!"

Awesome day @ Pittsburgh Barbell! Tied my meet PR 290kg Total, finally hit a 287lb / 130kg Snatch, 2kg meet PR. For Clean & Jerk I hit 353lb / 160kg and immediately jumped to 170kg to try and qualify for nationals. We trained through this meet and didn’t taper, getting ready for the Arnold in 5ish weeks. Excited to keep this train rolling! @rubbercityweightlifting

Proud of @the30daysofapril performance this weekend at the Raleigh Ruckus. She finished 314/160/347 for 821(44# PR) sleeved total at 130 BW. I tend to push my lifters a bit hard and get a little sappy and proud post meet. Not many young lifters have the determination to fight through the hard times. April is not one of those lifters. She bombed out a few months ago on a deadlift opener that she had destroyed for reps many times in training. What went wrong that day may never be fully known but she scored a solid 0 on the board. I gave her the option of stepping back on the platform in Raleigh to redeem herself, or head into a long off season, It didn't surprise me she chose to compete. Even during this prep I nearly scratched it but in the end she went out and put together the best all around meet she's ever had. Competing will test you, it doesn't care about your age, weight class, gender, or style of lifting. This girl at 21 years old has a ton of upside and growth potential. She finally listened and got into a real gym and will probably continue to be a huge pain in my ass, but for now I'll just be proud of what you accomplished over the weekend...back to work

Online client Andrea coming to the end of building and going to start her first small cut. Over the last 8 months we have worked with her for powerlifting programming/nutrition and focusing on building her body as well as the metabolism. We are now at a place(post first meet) where we can work on recomposition in the off season and her current caloric intake will allow us to cut and eventually maintain on higher calories than previously possible. My first American Open went awesome!Went 4/6 with a 276lb / 125kg Snatch and a 364lb / 165kg Clean and Jerk. Took attempts at 130 and 170 as well. 8kg Clean and Jerk Meet PR and a 5kg TOTAL PR. Thanks to everyone that was cheering me on and watching from back home, you have no idea how much it means to me. And thanks for the videos! Morning lovelies ! Let me just start by saying WOW! This morning's workout was INTENSE ! Since I've come back from surgery, I've been trying to take it light per coaches orders, but because I'm a determined little thing I wanted to hit it hard again. I've been craving the heavy weights and the after burn of lifting, so I cranked the weights up today and I'm so happy I did ! Sorry @amichael165 but I hit 180 on leg press which is now my highest weight ! What made it even better, is there was no pain, no struggle and no worry that I was gonna make my abdominal or back problems worse / bother them. It was amazing. Honestly y'all, since I've joined @unrivaledstrength and took on having a coach with them, I've looked at the fitness world in a whole new way. I have so much determination to compete now, and see how heavy I can lift, and see other women in the fitness industry achieve their goals as well. It seriously makes me happy seeing other bikini girls on here competing and sharing their story. It's incredibly inspiring & makes me want to compete that much more. I've loved every second of my fitness journey so far, and I cannot wait to someday hit the stage and watch all of this hard work, sweat, tears and pain come together! This here is something we love to see. Someone who just started lifting for the first time in her life about 8 months ago. @alikesic completed her first meet over the weekend and is excited to continue to grow and get stronger. Many times we've heard the gym is intimidating or we get asked if it's a good place for beginners. It doesn't matter what your level is, you will be accepted in and helped if that's what you are looking for. Good job to coach @amichael165 for helping her prepare. Ali went out hit her numbers and got a feel for how a meet runs. Only going up from here!

Absolutely thrilled with squats. 22lb all time PR, and I had to do it high bar. After a meet prep that didn't go well from the start, it came together great on meet day.
Bench and deadlift are posted separately because I couldn't frame the videos right with the multiple selection thing.
