#turtletuesday fun fact: Marine turtles are oviparous, meaning that, although they spend most of their lives at sea, they lay their eggs on land. Neat!

Another group of WM vollies arriving on the pristine shores of Brampton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for a holiday that matters. Mornings dedicated to conservation work on the islands, afternoons dedicated to a little relaxation. Does it get any better!?

A shot from our Youth Ambassadors Marine Plastic Audit in Mackay last month. We tallied 7990 plastic remnants, 2387 bottle lids, 386 plastic thongs… the list goes on! It was pretty shocking to see just how much waste washes up on the shores of otherwise uninhabited islands. As a planet, we need to do better!

They are the ones getting their hands dirty, pulling the weeds, picking up the plastic… a huge thank you to you amazing people for an incredible 2018, from the whole Wild Mob team (and the turtles!). And thanks to our volunteer Karyn for the pic!

Say Hello to this gorgeous Scarlet Honeyeater, spotted at this year's Eungella Bird Week. These little guys feed mainly on nectar, but sometimes on fruit and insects. They tend to hang out in the upper levels of the canopy, foraging in the flowers and foliage.
