We have a couple of spots left on our second March conservation trip to the Hauraki Gulf! This is your chance to explore a spectacular part of New Zealand well off the tourist trail, hang with some awesome locals and make a real , measurable difference to some key land and marine habitat areas. We'll see you there!
Say hello to this Russet Tailed Thrush, spotted at last year's Eungella Bird Week. This little guy has only relatively recently been regarded his own species, and is found in the temperate forests and tropical lowlands of Eastern Australia and PNG. Plans for the 2018 Eungella Bird Week are underway! Keen to join us? Sign up to our monthly newsletter for the latest updates (link is in our Insta bio).Another great shot from Barry Deacon
A shot from our Youth Ambassadors Marine Plastic Audit in Mackay last month. We tallied 7990 plastic remnants, 2387 bottle lids, 386 plastic thongs… the list goes on! It was pretty shocking to see just how much waste washes up on the shores of otherwise uninhabited islands. As a planet, we need to do better!
Another year, so many amazing groups of Wild Mob volunteers! Our volunteers really are at the heart of what we do. They are the ones getting their hands dirty, pulling the weeds, picking up the plastic… a huge thank you to you amazing people for an incredible 2018, from the whole Wild Mob team (and the turtles!). And thanks to our volunteer Karyn for the pic!
7990 plastic remnants, 2387 bottle lids, 386 plastic thongs... We did it! Our amazing Youth Ambassadors collected and audited almost a TONNE of marine plastic and debris from the GBR islands over the weekend. A huge congrats to these incredible young people, and a huge thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. Read all about it over on our blog website link is in our Insta bio).
Back by popular demand! We've added a very special conservation adventure in the Whitsunday Islands to next year's calendar. Make a difference to the GBR by morning, learn to stand-up paddleboard with the experts by afternoon! What a worthwhile way to spend a week in paradise! Head to the link in our bio to find out more.
