We've been volunteering at a farm to cuddle baby goat, and let me just tell you...goats are just the funniest little animals! I definitely have a new appreciation for photographing dogs after attempting to do so with goats. They definitely do not know what no, stay, sit, stop chewing, or stop jumping means. 😂❤💃🏻 #BabyGoats
How do you guys feel about non-Chuck and the Ferret pics. We take lots of pics of other subjects and would love to share. Thoughts?

Day Four of being sick, ugh. Maybe I caught something when I went baby goat cuddling, haha. Anyway, today the spotlight is back on Mini-Chuck. I generally use her for photo shoots now because she's the easiest one to work with...and because she doesn't have a beard so I don't have to worry about beard stains like I do with Chuck and Olivia. What do you guys use to clean beard stains? And which doggy would you like to see more of...don't worry I won't tell them. 😂❤💃🏻 #DatUnderbiteTho #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog
Do you guys know @dwam_dogwithamission? They sent us a few of their collars to review, and let me just tell you...they are GORGEOUS!!! If you're looking for a unique collar that is the perfect blend of modern meets vintage meets boho, look no further. We were given the code INSTA2017 for our followers to use for a discount. I was raised by an amazingly strong woman. She is the epitome of courage, strength, and resilience. And she did it on her own. I would not be the person I am today without her...and for that, I am eternally grateful to her..
Growing up, my mom would constantly tease me, telling me I was "born with my mouth first" because I was always talking, arguing, having something to say. And she always told me: You have a mouth, so use it...and use it for the greater good..
And that I did. And do. And will continue to do so..
Today, we celebrated International Women's Day. We wore red. We marched. We protested. But more importantly, we reached out to others in solidarity. .
Solidarity means so much more than just showing "support". It's an affirmation of common goals...fighting the same battles, side by side. .
What will you do? .
It's hard to make a picture with a 🐷 pig's ear sexy, but we tried the best we could, haha. Hope it at least looks delicious. We got this treat from Best Bully Sticks...yes, they sell more than just bully sticks! One of the things I love most about this company is the source of their products. Anyone? I know we do. We all do what we can to prolong the good health of our dogs so why not buy them delicious treats that won't wreak havoc on their health? Check out this product and more at bestbullysticks.com and @bestbullysticks and enjoy 10% off your order with code "newtreats". Although I eventually transitioned to a private school, the time during which I received an education through the public school system was highly enjoyable. The manner by which the teachers taught the curriculum kept students engaged and motivated. I remember a time in our English class in 7th grade when the teacher challenged us to embrace poetry by offering an incentive of one bonus point for every poetry line that we could recite from memory in front of the entire class. Not to be outdone by any of my classmates, I went on to recite over 1,000 lines. One of the poems that I remember reciting was Langston Hughes's "A Dream Deferred." At that time, I did not fully understand nor appreciate the deeper meaning behind the poem, but over the years when I would hit roadblocks in my life, I would recall that poem. I would remember the poignant opening inquiry…what happens to a dream deferred? What indeed. He goes on to ask if it dries up like a raisin or does it fester like a sore. He further asks if it runs or does it stink like rotten meat or does it crust over. Or maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or…maybe, it just explodes. Although this poem was written in the context of the frustration experienced by African Americans during the Civil Rights movement, it was also cleverly written in a way that allowed it to be timeless and universal. Oftentimes in our lives, we would feel a sense of despondency and stagnation. We feel as if our goals are out of reach or we're just in a rut. I suspect many of us remember a time when life seems to hold many promises and opportunities. Just remember, it still does. And it always will. Just keep fighting the good fight. Never give up hope. #Dreams #DontStopBelievin #TotallyHashtaggedALineFromAJourneySong
Today, I'd like to highlight one of my favorite collar/leash/accessories small business shops: @dwam_dogwithamission. As the shop name suggests, the company supports special local and international animal welfare projects to help less fortunate dogs get shelter and much needed TLC by donating a portion of their sales to such groups. We were fortunate to have received a few of their products to review and I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled we were when we opened the package. The material used was of the highest quality and the craftsmanship is extremely impeccable. The leather, is sturdy, well-oiled, and absolutely beautiful. The embroidery is unique, colorful, funky, bohemian, and fun. The hardware is just the right shade, neither too brassy, too gold, nor too dark. We had quite a few people comment on the beauty of the collar when we were walking Chuck around town. If you're looking for a unique collar that is the perfect blend of modern meets vintage meets boho, look no further. We were given the code INSTA2017 for our followers to use for a discount. This is not a paid post, nor are we earning a commission if you use the code. We just hope you enjoy the products as much as we have!
And for these reasons and more, Chuck and I were proud to have participated in the Women’s March on Washington. We were proud to join others who wanted (and needed) their voices heard. The first picture in this "Mr. Chuck Goes to Washington" series was taken a day after the March, and overnight, the city cleaned itself, and it was as if the March never happened. But it did. And it was beautiful. It was beautiful because it did not matter who you were, whether you were Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Man, Woman, Child, Dog, Cat, Straight, Gay, Bi, Trans, Democrat, Republican, etc., you marched because you believed in human decency. We all put our differences aside and came together. Hundreds of people from various nations traveled here in our Nation's Capital and joined in the March. We laughed, we sang, we chanted, and we protested. And boy did we roar. And it was beautiful. And we will continue making our voices heard until we see change designed for the greater good. We shall overcome. (Part 5 of 5) #MrChuckGoesToWashington #WomensMarch #WomensMarchOnWashington
In the coming days, I will post other pictures from the protest, less to send a message, and more to share the experience. Because of diminishing returns, I've said what I've wanted to say and any further statement would yield little incremental results. Hopefully, it made at least one person out there who had an opposing view think about the conveyed message. In my personal life, however, I will continue to be at every protest I could reasonably attend, whether it be a gathering in the city or at the airport, I will be there. And if you don't care one way or other, I hope you do try and take the time to at least spectate. This is history in the making, and one day, I'll be one of those old people remembering of another time. Hope to see you there.
But my question for those who supported Trump is this: Why are you so angry at those of us who are speaking up for human decency? Why must what I've written be called fake news or why must I be proclaimed as uneducated? Since when is my account considered a source for news, much less fake news? Since when could one's thoughts, feelings, AND real-life experiences be considered fake news? Am I to believe that for myself and millions of other people that we did not experience the prejudices that we've experienced in our lifetime? Is it all made up to further some agenda? And what agenda is that, may I ask? If the agenda is to ask for each of us to act with a sense of decency (regardless of who you support) then you've got me. Guilty as charged. I can't even dignify the comments where I've been called uneducated with a response. I would hope that my writing speaks for itself. Some of the comments I've read are from people who could not even string together a sentence, much less present a cohesive statement without resorting to name-calling or repeating buzzwords they've heard elsewhere (I'm looking at you "special snowflake" users...because calling me a snowflake is a very valid argument in what universe). So my question still is this: Why are you so angry? Is it because deep down you've realized you've made a mistake and it's easier to be angry at others instead of yourself for your mistake? And that you're doubling down in hopes that the mess you've seen in the past couple of weeks will eventually rebound? I sure hope that this is the case. Because if it is, there's still hope for you. Is it because you feel that in the past eight years, your voice was not heard, and that the new administration will bring about change? Because if it is, there's still hope for you. But, if you truly support Trump (and his team) for everything that he (they) stands for, and you truly accept all of his (their) personal flaws, and you truly identify with who he (they) is as a person, then truly, we as a nation are in trouble. But these series of posts are not about who won or who lost. This is not about which Party you align with. This is not about judging anyone because your belief system may differ from the next. This is about human decency. This is about recognizing that our country is on the precipice of a disaster. Imagine. Imagine a world where the truth can become an untruth with a tap of a button. Imagine a world so polluted that clean water has become currency and clean air is a distant memory. Imagine a world where no one trusts anyone any longer and you fear and hate your friends, family, neighbor, co-worker, strangers because that has become the norm. If we keep dividing ourselves, we will have all lost. This is not about who "won" or who "lost". If we keep thinking like that, we will have all lost. If the candidate that you voted for won, that does not make you a "winner" and any better than the next. If the candidate that you voted for lost, that does not make you a "loser" and any less than the next. But the emotions that you felt (and are still feeling), despite who won or lost, are what makes you human. This is what makes us all human. We must not lose sight of this. At the root of all of this, we are human. We all have fears. I have them. You have them. We all have them. We are all scared for different reasons, but we must never lose sight. We are all human. And this is about human decency. (Part 3 of 5) #MrChuckGoesToWashington #WomensMarch #WomensMarchOnWashington #NobodyKnowsTheTroubleIveSeen
But until you have walked a step in the shoes of the Marginalized, you will never understand. You will never understand how it feels to walk into two different restaurants located in two different Southern American towns, located miles apart from one another, and feeling the hatred emanating from people who automatically treat you as if you were a subordinate class of human simply because you are different in one place, and feeling the relief when people treat you as if you're no different from them in spite of the fact that you are different in another place. You will never understand how it feels to be verbally assaulted by one of the Privileged a day after the Election Results because you are different, and suddenly it has become acceptable to openly expose your hatred and wear it as if it were a badge of honor. And you will never understand how it feels to fear for your life because of your differences. (Part 2 of 5) #MrChuckGoesToWashington #WomensMarch #WomensMarchOnWashington
Once upon a time, I was a proud member of the Republican Party, but this was largely in part because of its conservative economic policies. I believed (and still do) in a free market, fiscal conservatism, limited government intervention, and a strong national defense. These policies were the focus of the GOP of former times. These days, it seems the sole purpose of the GOP is to trample upon the rights of the Marginalized while setting up policies and procedures that, by design, are destroying the very principles that made the United States of America a great country and a respected world leader. Within a few short weeks, everything that was great about America is slowly unraveling, exposing a force of hate, bigotry, public racism, and more. I see you. You no longer need to pretend that you hate the Marginalized because of differences that made you feel uncomfortable. You no longer need to pretend.
