Just a girl and her stretch time.... .

Been working a lot on my flexibility and mobility besides just my usual fitness routine. I spend anywhere from 5-30 minutes (whenever or wherever I can get any time in, it’s better than nothing) everyday if I can! I’m also improving my strength in different ways. Being well rounded athlete/individual in all aspects! As I gain the knowledge, improve my flexibility and mobility of my joints/spine/neck etc, I have come to learn how important it is in my training and also reducing injuries. And it’s great mediation and me time. I’m looking forward to keep on progressing. It makes me super happy! Also thank you to everyone who shares tips and suggestions, I appreciate it 💛

i don’t do #transformationtuesday often because scrolling back through my camera roll typically means getting lost in videos of puppy misha for an hour or two and then falling asleep before i could remember what i was doing. but tonight i lifted to the playlist i made when i first started working out and it got me feeling nostalgic 🤷🏻‍♀️
i used to sit on the same machine at kennedy each morning looking at my arms, wondering if they’d ever change and feeling frustrated because they never seemed to. i wish i could go back and rub this in my face, and also tell myself to stop trying to break my ankles just to try to make my thighs look smaller. newsflash: my thighs will ALWAYS touch, and that is fucking fine.
i’ve worked hard for what i have today, but a lot of the ~transformation~ was learning how to develop my goals around my own damn body, not someone else’s.
if you see yourself as a work of art, it becomes both harder to hold yourself to impossible standards and easier to celebrate each step of progress along the way. tiny brush strokes are hard to see day by day, but be patient, get lost in the process, and then take a step back to admire what you’ve built for yourself. & always. take. progress. pics. ❤️

Ain’t this the the truth huh... The 3 most important things to do are to 1: Set Goals 2: Create a Plan 3: Execute/Take action
Years ago around 8th/9th grade, after a lot of our peers were making quick money and many ultimately getting jammed up in the “injustice system,” my homeboy and I sat down and plotted a plan to escape some of the traps and get to the next levels in life.
We deliberately said we were going to do things the “long way...” Like Biggie said “either ya slinging crack rock or ya got a wicked jump shot.” That was was what a lot of kids viewed as their options. (But there were others). Long story short... my boy had a wicked jump shot and he did his thing, he hustled and made it to the league. I busted my azz in school and went on to get an MBA. My boy and I connected on ventures later in life. At the time we were racing to be #markzuckerberg and #reidhoffman in the social media space (they obviously won). We then pivoted into other ventures film and TV among other things. There were a few successes, but ultimately things didn’t blow up like we’d hoped. (Good experience and great relationships were made.) I left the mini-venture capital world bought and sold a business or two and then, I got married started a beautiful family and fell back on my education to land a nice gig in corporate America, where I’ve been maneuvering since. (This was part of the plan, to swing for the fences and if I didn’t get the grand slam the education and experience would be an important backstop to still be able to maneuver comfortably.) Success doesn’t always occur in a straight line. Life will throw you curveballs. When you have a plan and know the direction you need to be going many times you’ll zig and zag but you’ll keep progressing and moving #forward #onwardandupward
The story isn’t over. Whether the plan is to take over the corporate world, to start another business venture, nonprofit, or whatever it is you endeavor as long as you’re still breathing, you have another shot. So plan your work and work your plans. All it takes is one hit and you’re legendary. Cheers to each of our next phases! #keepgoing #staymotivated #mogulgrind

So often we compare ourselves to what we see on social media, television and people in our everyday lives..
WHY DO WE DO THAT?
In reality, the ONLY comparison we should be making is with ourselves! Are you better than you were yesterday? Are you happier than you were yesterday? Have you improved since yesterday in any capacity?? I started to get down on myself today as I compared my progress picture to another girl, then I stopped & asked myself what the heck I was doing!? MY progress has nothing to do with anyone else. MY self esteem shouldn't be brought down because of someone else!

Let’s Talk?! 🤓

About 2 months ago I decided to give myself a bit of a break in the gym! Why?! 1. I had other commitments with my work 2. I actually found my motivation had dropped after training rock solid for 15 weeks for my first ever bikini comp.
3. Felt very insecure and conscience in how I looked.

These reasons I become a little lost and actually kind of nervous to train again 😖 It almost felt like I was a newbie signing up for their introduction day and generally just had no idea where I wanted to start!
Even though this was the case, it was also one of the best decisions I think I’ve recently made! Taking a break isn’t a bad thing - For me I wasn’t looking as good as I wanted because I was eating more and training less but I had time to do other things i.e go to socials, see a bit of the world, being in control of all my work and currently doing really well with my job! Plus spending time with family and learning new things about myself 😁 Finding balance is soooooo important and definitely keeps me sane! I 💯 promise you that it’s okay to go through stages like this! We all do it....its normal! Even if it’s just the odd day when you get up in the morning and you’d rather have a duvet day rather than putting on your running shoes 👟 Yes we’ve all been there haven’t we 🙄🤫 Since then, I am currently in Oman (yes I’m the middle of a desert 🐪🌵) doing what I love most. Some of you may not know but I’m working out here for a month on a professional dance job 💃🏻 Even though I have spent a lot of time away from the gym and put my job first, it’s definitely another love and training daily has just become the norm ☺️ I have really missed it! So I am back working out and let me tell you....it feels so daymm good 💪🏼 the gym definitely does keep you fit and healthy for sure but personally it’s also a little bit of ‘me time’ and an overall better lifestyle 😁

•School is going GREAT! I feel like I have a great handle on my schedule and my workload. It isn’t anything I can’t handle 🙌🏻
•Drinking alcohol habits are going REALLY well. I’m not binging on the booze or drinking more than twice a week the last two weeks, which I’m calling a WIN. I find I’m more productive and less hungry when I don’t drink the night before. •Eating is going okay. I’m tracking 6 days a week and I’m at or under calorie goal more often than not.
•Workouts are at a halt. I got sick for 2 weeks and realized once again why I don’t run. I put a treadmill in the house so I would walk while I watch tv, but that isn’t happening either. I tried 1 1/2 days of yoga before i got sick and didn’t pick it back up. I froze my rock climbing membership because it wasn’t worth it.
•BUT!! I joined 24 hour fitness today because I DO love the classes and it makes me MAKE time to go because I’m paying for it. I’m going tomorrow after my Wednesday evening plans 🙌🏻
