#paralleltakeover @glorijalizde Hi! It's my third day of takeover and I'm showing you a part of my new work which I will show at the next Parallel meeting in Kaunas, Lithuania. With this project I want to research how memories are made and how often photos serve as triggers for these memories.
.
While looking at my childhood videos, I've come across this 3-second clip which I've never seen before. It's the only clip where my mother and father are together with me. A few years later they divorced and I always picture them separately so it was unusual to see them together. This evoked some new memories for me, but also made me question what photos we decide to show to our family, friends, public etc. How would we like to be remembered?

#paralleltakeover @glorijalizde On my second day of takeover I'm showing you my workbook/sketchbook for a new project. This is how I always begin my process since I like to plan and research a lot. .
I usually start with some book reading and photographers that deal with similar subject. When I finish the project I often look back through the workbook because it's always interesting to see how one idea progressed in so many different ways and sometimes into something completely different.

Hello everyone! I am Glorija Lizde, an emerging photographer of Parallel's first cycle. I was proposed by international photography festival @organvida_festival based in Zagreb, Croatia which will be the next destination of Parallel Intersection!
.
Since you'll be seeing my new work for the next few days during this takeover, I want to share with you a little bit about the project I exhibited at Parallel's Showcase which also deals with family photography and phototherapy. .
This portrait of my sister from the series F20.5 shows one of my father's hallucinations while he suffered from schizophrenia. He didnt't speak for several years and when he finally could he told to me about his memories and hallucinations:
One day while he was sitting in the living room he heard a voice of an unknown creature telling him that his sister will come and put his head on the stovetop. Then she will light the stovetop which serves as an entrance, a tunnel to hell where he will be alive but trapped forever.
.
.
In my photography work I want to talk about these subjects, of unconscious and unknown, of different experiences, of photography as a therapeutic tool for questioning one's identity.

Beautiful. Just like Europe but with more choices. Trust me, I’ve been. They don’t have most of these stores. #europeanphotography #europe #europeanvacation #europeanshopping
