Document the moments that you feel good. About life, about yourself, about the weather, about your grades, about whatever! Love life a little and life will love you back a little.

I wanna take a few moments to remind you all to make a list of two or three (or more) gratitudes. Even on the hardest of days, there is always something to be grateful for, and I encourage you to make a list of happy things or gratitudes in order to remind you that the world isn’t always such a bad place.
That’s not to say this won’t be difficult. Some days it’s So! Hard! to find something to be happy about. I encourage you to dig deep or ask a friend to help you out. Maybe your friend is who/what you’re grateful for!

Today I’m grateful that I let myself sleep in an extra hour, I didn’t miss the bus, and I’ve been chatting with quite a few friends, lately!

Side note: listing gratitudes is really helpful when you’re anxious. It serves as a positive distraction and grounding tool.

Happy Thursday!

Vito was doing so well eating his lunches, then he got sick a couple weeks ago and his appetite suffered, and now he’s back to hardly eating anything at all 😩 Even standbys like his beloved ham are not getting eaten, so today I am switching it up a bit, hoping to get him to eat 🤞🏻

So, you get to hear from Val Gent, Speech Pathologist and owner of @lets_eat_speech about how she chooses to feed her family. She also shares some great tips, book recommendations and pics of meals her family regularly eat. ⠀

Let’s talk medication.
So, some view taking meds as a weakness. Some view it as being strong. To me, I just see it as a part of my daily routine; something important in my life, but I don’t feel like a failure or super strong by taking medication to manage my symptoms. I just view it as something I do daily to help with my depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and hallucinations. (Whenever I tell people I have hallucinations, they kinda freak out. But I promise they’re actually quite common and they often appear with major depression and bipolar disorders.)
Anywho...the point of this post is really just to remind y’all that it’s okay if you take meds. It’s okay if you don’t want to. It’s something to talk about with your doctor and these are important conversations to have with them. Meds work for some people, therapy works for others, both work for others, and some people’s symptoms are resistant to all of the above and they find other ways to manage (such as exercise, journaling, etc.).

Normalize the fact that people take medications. You take meds when you’re body’s sick, so it’s okay to take prescribed meds when your brain is ill. Find what works for you and pleaseeeeee remember that 1) it’s a process finding the right combo of things that work best for you (it can take months and even years, sometimes), and 2) people are not insane just because they take a little pill that helps normalize their serotonin levels.

"We have the beets!" should've been Dwight Schrute's beet farm slogan. I would have thoroughly enjoyed that!
We got the beets this week for our #NewVegChallenge !
Beets are high in antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin A, and folate! They are sweet, yet savoury, and can be eaten as is or in a wide variety of dishes!
BONUS: the tops are edible too! Best served lightly steamed with salt and butter (yum!)
Tomorrow we will talk about ways to cook these beautiful babies up! #encompassnutrition #rd2be #healthychoices #nutrition #eatwell #mindfuleating #nutritionmadeeasy #beets #foodlovers #eatyourveggies #nutritionhelp #makeiteasy #eathealthyshit #groceryshopping #challenge #nutritionchallenge #veggies #guiltfreefood #youcandoit #thecomeback #foodisfun #nutritionfacts

Did you know that more than 50% of your body consists of water? In fact, according to the Journal of Biological Chemistry 83% of the lungs is water, 79% of your muscles and kidneys is water, and 73% of the brain 🧠 and heart ♥️ is water! 💧 ▫️
Question ➡️❓How much water do you drink daily? What’s your biggest barrier to drinking enough water❓Let me know & join my challenge to you (deets below)! ⤵️
📸 @joggerof4. She also gives a great tip on infusing water with fruits and veggies to make drinking more of it easier. Check out her feed for beautiful photos and great tips. ▫️
Water is an essential nutrient which means we have to get it from an outside source (by eating or drinking it). It helps with digestion, shock absorption for internal organs, regulating body temperature, and assists with flushing wastes and toxins from the body. It’s vital! 🚰
▫️
I invite you to join me in the ONE WEEK WATER CHALLENGE where you make drinking water a priority and focus for the next 7 days! I’ll be checking in with you via story! If you’re in, comment below with your preferred drink water temperature (mine’s room temp)! ⤵️

We started Baby Led Weaning last year with our little man and he has been a champion eater ever since! He eats what we eat and he does it eagerly. He stops when he is full and tries a variety of flavors and textures.
Is this due to #babyledweaning? Maybe. Is it due to his genes of a dietitian mama and a football player dada? Maybe.

Either way, he is building a positive foundation of two things that adults struggle with often: not listening to their hunger/fullness cues and having a limited variety of foods in their diet.
We turned to @fourtifiedfam for our evidenced-based information. This Dietitian mama knows her stuff and her 5 (+2 on the way) kiddos are proof of the method.

If you are interested in learning more about baby led weaning, send me a message so I can get you the resources you need. 🍽️

When your program has a B I G eat day before what I’m assuming is going to be a KILLA leg day tomorrow. You do not question, you E A T 😍😍
-
Scarfing down 1/2 of a burrito and OMW it’s soo delish! I honestly haven’t been craving anything too much throughout this program {so far haha} but this hit the SPOT today!
-
I am digging this timed nutrition & I’m learning SO much about my body. I used to eat until it HURT. 😣😣
I would eat before events with my friends so that when I was with them I could “eat less” 😞. I had a serious binging problem that I completely denied for years!! All of those habits & mindsets were TOUGH to work through but man, so worth it! 👏🏼❤️
