A Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal é uma das maiores empresas vinícolas lusitanas, estando presente em 7 diferentes regiões vitícolas portuguesas, com um total de 1.200 hectares de vinhedos distribuídos por 40 propriedades distintas. Um rosé sul-africano para relaxar no domingo!

Coloração rosé intensa na taça. Aromas de morango fresco, cereja e um leve toque herbáceo (eucalipto?).
Na boca mostrou frutas vermelhas, acidez moderada, corpo leve e bastante refrescância. Tem taninos bem discretos, quase imperceptíveis. E um final curto mas gostoso, de cerejas!

We love the Padelletti wine style as it is traditional, soulful and full of character. We were delighted to discover that they still had some older wines from exceptional vintages in their cellar - including the 1999 and 2001, vintages that are considered some of the greatest of the last 50 years.
The wines are "old school" at their most charming best, exhibiting notes of leather, spice box and a myriad of dried fruits. So, we created a trio of some of his best vintages to celebrate Guido and his unique style.

One Mile End "Ancho Cocoa Stout" 6%.
Stout.
Pours a stunning black with a thick, frothy, chocolate brown head. Aromas of charred chocolate, soft biscuits and some hints of smoky chipotle. The palate is slightly weaker than than that of the aromas. Still some reasonably creamy chocolates, some smokiness and subtle hints of dark roast coffee. An easy drinking stout but lacking some mouthfeel and could certainly do with some extra oomph in the taste department. A strong 6/10. Cheers! 🍻🍺🍻🍺

There was an emphasis on the the introduction to Amrut Amalgam. But the pairing also included Amrut Fusion and Amrut Two Indies Rum.

Rioja. From sunny Spain. This wine has four styles, namely "Rioja", "Crianza", "Reserva", and "Gran Reserva". The one I had today is simply called "Rioja", or "Joven", meaning "young". Supposed to be consumed- you guessed it- young.

On to the #tastingnotes , the Campo Viejo Rioja 2015 is an exciting, modest, fruit-forward red with a strong, identifiable bouquet of ripe red currant and red berries, a hint of herbaceous aromas, along with smokiness from the local soil and vanilla from the earth. On the palate, the wine starts off with the fruit, followed by vanilla and smoke, with a hit of refreshing acidity, high alcohol, and moderate, although slightly unstructured tannins. The finish is chocolatey, velvety, and beautiful, however with a slight burn. In my opinion, this wine would be at its peak in 4-5 months. 7/10.

Ideal food pairings- pork sausage, or any Spanish pork products like Serrano ham creates a near-heavenly experience with this wine. Moderately spiced, richly flavoured lamb/pork curry would be the ideal Indian food to go with this excellent wine.

Chianti Classico 2013

This is a good example of the style of Chianti that has had a rough time. But is back now, and no "Spaghetti Chianti", great wine! #dramaticterroir
Ruby colour and medium intensity on the nose. this wine is developing but on the young side. Very lovely primary fruit like redberry, blueberry, red cherry, and raspberry. Oak notes of mushroom, vanilla and cinnamon. As well as tertiary aromas of forest floor, and leather. Very well balanced with medium acidity as well as tannins. Would do well with some more years to soften up.
After the 2nd World War, the Economy of Italy was not doing so very well. But it was good to see that the government saw to it that winemakers got funded to build new vineyard. But these were less high-quality than before. They used the Sangiovese di Romagna, easily accessible and fast growing. Quality dropped.... but Luckily a few producers saw what Sassicaia was doing and in the 70's made the idea of Chianti and the quality grow!

I love it when The French teach the Americans how to make wine 😜 Jokes apart, the Drouhin did a stunning job in Oregon and I’m a great fan of that Pinot Noir region 🍷

This top cuvée Laurène was from the very good 2012 vintage with aromas of red cherries, cranberries, strawberries, sweet spice and early signs of forest floor.
.
On the palate, it had an extra touch of pomegranate I couldn’t smell on the nose. Tannins are super fine grained, this wine was simply succulent and so elegant.

£45 a bottle... again not cheap but delicious if you want to venture out of Burgundy made by Burgundians 😁

Stretto e silenzioso, severo, compresso. Ci ha messo almeno 3 ore ma poi una volta uscito allo scoperto si è rivelato con tutta la sua travolgente finezza.
